Meal Steals

Request data deletion

These instructions accompany our Privacy Policy.

Contact us about a privacy or data deletion request. Meal Steals does not require an account.

Email our support inbox:
hello@mealsteals.co

Tell us what you would like deleted. You can request deletion without signing in or having the app installed.

Making a request

Tell us whether your request concerns the app, website, former newsletter or support email. If it concerns an earlier support conversation, identify the message or reply in that thread. App diagnostics are optional.

We review privacy requests and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. We may ask for information needed to verify your request, depending on its scope and risk. Please do not send passwords, secret keys or government ID.

What we can handle

We assess requests individually. Our normal support workflow retains and archives email. Archiving does not delete it. We may retain information where necessary and legally permitted, including a limited record of a request and our response. Unsubscribe and delivery records may also be held by our email provider.

We accept requests about app notification records, app and website Analytics history, and historical newsletter click records, but do not currently offer a verified deletion process for those records. We may be unable to reliably identify or remove particular records. Settings → Send Feedback can include diagnostics that help locate an installation. Those details do not prove ownership and do not include the separate Analytics app-instance identifier.

We will explain what was deleted, what is pending, what we cannot identify or remove, and any information retained and the reason. Sending a request or diagnostics does not mean every record will be deleted. These limits do not remove rights or obligations under applicable law.

Retention and other limits

Some statistics combine activity without an individual device identifier, so we cannot reliably separate one person's contribution. Current location statistics expire after 30 days and notification measurement events after 90 days. Automatic cleanup may take longer.

Deleting live records does not immediately remove backups, recovery copies or provider-held data. Current app settings include seven-day recovery history, backups retained for 98 days, and archived exports retained for 180 days with a further seven-day recovery period. App Analytics exports in BigQuery have no automatic expiry configured. This setting does not override prior retention commitments. These settings were last checked on October 6, 2026. Support records and provider logs have separate retention periods. Applicable retention and deletion requirements still apply.

Disabling notifications or uninstalling the app does not delete all stored data. Using or reinstalling the app can create new records. For reports about data from a person under 18, contact the same address. The current age eligibility and related privacy commitments remain unchanged by this correction.
